Certification of Safety Automation in the Process and Energy Industries

This service is dedicated to companies designing process and power installations as well as those integrating safety automation systems for such installations. We offer verification of automation system designs in accordance with PN-EN 61508, PN-EN 61511, and PN-EN 50156 standards, as well as relevant product-specific standards, and validation of safety systems directly on-site. This service is especially valuable when the safety system is subject to assessment by authorized authorities. We conduct a preliminary evaluation of the certification documentation and represent our clients during assessments involving the Notified Body UDT-CERT.

Scope of the Service Includes:

Verification of proper selection of safety functions – checking whether the hazards identified in the hazard analysis are adequately addressed by the required safety functions. If harmonized standards apply to the installation, the verification is extended accordingly.
Verification of safety requirement assignment – for each safety function, we assess whether the functional safety requirements (SIL) have been correctly assigned during the design phase.
Verification of compliance with safety requirements – ensuring that the designed function meets the required Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assigned during the risk assessment and documented in the Safety Requirements Specification (SRS).
Review of additional certification documentation – including Cause & Effect matrices, logic diagrams, electrical schematics, validation instructions, and safety documentation — to confirm the completeness and correctness of the automation system documentation before it is submitted to UDT/CLDT.
Validation of safety software – testing and reviewing the software using recognized techniques to identify and correct any existing errors.
